Quality Mark We are delighted to announce that City & Guilds have a begun a process to accredit our co-owned Quality Mark. This is fantastic news and represents a major milestone in our own quality journey at London Youth using our co-owned quality framework called Assured Quality for Youth Projects (AQYP) Stephen Hills, Senior Manager, Policy and Regulation, Assessment and Quality says:
Why we believe in Quality? Supporting our members to achieve quality standards is a core aim of ours at London Youth. This is why we are rolling out our dedicated programme to help our members reach quality standards, in order to… ü Achieve lasting improvements to their practice and management ü Provide a clear structure to plan and deliver support to our members ü Prove the quality of service being delivered to young people ü Have young people, their families and funders recognise the award as a sign of excellence Before we piloted the programme, we invested a great deal of time and energy identifying the right model to build upon. That which impressed us the most as being particularly relevant and accessible to our very diverse members across the capital was AQYP developed by our colleagues in Hampshire Youth Options Why AQYP? Because it is… ü Straightforward ü Progressive – through Bronze, through Silver to Gold ü Ideal for all kinds of community-based youth work ü Designed to show how your work meets the key Every Child Matters outcomes Mark Dixon, Chief Executive at Hampshire Youth Options has been incredibly generous with his time and open with his organisation’s expertise. It’s been a great example of practical partnership working which lead to London Youth becoming joint owners of AQYP. So we hope that you will want to find out more about this work and begin your clubs quality journey. Those who took part in our pilot were all clear that achieving quality standards has helped them improve services and opportunities for young people even further - as well as helping develop stronger relationships with funders and statutory partners.
