To save you time and get some immediate and positive direction we highly recommend the National Council for Voluntary Organisations (NCVO) whose website contains a wealth of information and is an excellent resource, which is regularly updated.

Their Advice to Small Organisations section gives a comprehensive set of links to guidance notes and publications including introductory guides to finance and funding.

To bring some stability and order to your funding plans time invested in looking through NCVO’s Sustainable Funding Project would be an excellent choice. This project encourages and enables voluntary and community organisations to explore and exploit a full range of funding and financing options.

The Institute of Fundraising is the professional body for anyone who is charged with fundraising. A wealth of information and advice is available including their publication the Good Fundraising Guide  which is aimed at anyone who has never received any formal training in fundraising and now finds such work as part of their role be it full time or as a volunteer. There is a dedicated section within this guide for those running youth groups.
