Marcella has been working with young
people for over 15 years within a variety of settings -
centre-based, detached and specialised youth work. She joined
London Youth 5 years ago as a freelance trainer delivering a
range of courses such as management committee training, youth
forum training and Level One Foundation in Youth Work and Level
Two Certificate in Youth Work.
Robert runs a Freelance Training and Consultancy
service – to
a range of services working with young people, and a private
psychotherapy practice. Since July 1999 he has been external
group supervisor for Hackney Off Centre, is a school’s
counsellor supervisor, a trainer of personal advisors, and is
a non-line managerial supervisor of PA’s. His recent training
and consultancy contracts have been wide and varied.

Alan Earwaker,
Associate Educator, Hope UK |
Alan is Treasurer and non-executive Director for Hope UK. He
is a trained teacher who has retired from paid employment and
as a Hope UK Voluntary Associate Educator is teaching drugs education
as part of the Citizenship curriculum in secondary schools in
Redhill and Reigate, Surrey. As a Voluntary Associate Educator
with Oasis/ACET Alan teaches sex and relationship (SRE) lessons
in Secondary Schools. He also represents Hope UK on the Local
Strategic Partnership, Community Safety Task group, in the Borough
of Reigate and Banstead, Surrey.
John has worked with young people for
over 10 years, bringing experience from centre based, detached
projects and specialised
youth work to the team. John has varied experience on delivering
life skills training for young people including sexual health,
contraception, education and numeracy & budgeting. Management
committee, Peer Leadership and Part-Time youth work are courses
John has also delivered.
Albert has been a Youth Worker for 20 years, progressing to
an assistant Youth Worker in 1984. He then became a Senior Youth
Worker in 1989, responsible for programme development, training
and all aspects of business management and became a Club Manager
in 1998. He has also been operating as a trainer since 1990,
involved in writing, developing and delivering courses.
Tracie has been a youth worker and trainer for 20 years having
spent most of that time in face-to-face youth work and education.
She has an MA in youth and community studies and has recently
completed a Diploma in counselling. Tracie is Director of Operations
at London Youth.
Fran has been training adults and young
people for the past 10 years and is an experienced youth worker.
She trained in Conflict
Resolution with LEAP; ran the LEAP Youth Theatre; co-designed
and co-facilitated the original ‘Quarrel Shop’ six-week
peer mediation course for young people and has trained young
offenders at HMP Feltham YOI. She has worked as a generic youth
worker for Camden and also specialised in Youth Arts work for
Islington and Camden. While teaching Drama and Theatre at FE,
she delivered ‘Dealing with Difficult Behaviour’ for
staff at Harrow College and more recently, Conflict Resolution
training for staff at the Hounslow Youth Service.
Ten years ago Youth Action UK became the first voluntary youth
project in the country to contract with a Local Authority to
provide youth services, they remain a leader in the field, continually
looking for new and imaginative ways to deliver services to young
people. The organisation has at its heart a commitment to listen
to young people and although much has changed since they started
in 1984 that promise has remained firm and they continue to be
influenced by the young people with whom they work.
