Athan 31

My Team, My Club, My Community

80 years on, the Athan 31 Youth Club is opening again to new members!

Athan 31 is London Youth’s new Youth Action programme. Over the past 7 years, we have seen the benefit of young people coming together in groups to lead and learn from projects that they have created themselves. We want to take this to the next level and support them to create change in their clubs and communities, whilst also building a strong culture of youth action at our youth clubs. By becoming an Athan 31 club, youth clubs get £2,500 to spend on youth projects, the youth workers get access to 3 training days looking at how to support young people when carrying out youth action projects, and young people get to plan and deliver activities that will really make a difference to them and their communities.

How can my club get involved?

We are starting this year with a pilot of 12 youth clubs from our membership who have been, or are in the process of gaining the London Youth Quality Mark. We have selected these clubs to really see what makes a difference and ensure that this programme flexibly meets the needs of our youth clubs.

We will start recruitment for the next cohort in Summer 2012, but watch this space for more information on the programme and the lessons that we have learnt as we go along!

This programme is possible due to the generous support of the Jack Petchey Foundation, Jimmy Dixon Trust and the J.P.Getty Foundation
