Youth Action and Leadership

London Youth & The Challenge

In 2012 London Youth partnered up with The Challenge Network to support the delivery of The Challenge programme in the boroughs of Hackney and Tower Hamlets. We successfully set up and run the programme with 150 young people who came together to challenge themselves in a wide variety of experiences and make a mark in their local communities.

The Challenge Network was founded in 2009 with the mission “to connect and inspire people to strengthen their communities”. Four years on, The Challenge Network is the lead provider of National Citizen Service which enables young people from all backgrounds to work together, gain new skills and make a difference in their local areas.

In summer 2012 almost 9,200 young people took part in The Challenge programme nationwide. Next summer, The Challenge will grow again, with 14,000 places across the country including an impressive 7,000 in London alone.

At London Youth, we are very excited to continue working with The Challenge as their franchise partner to deliver the programme to 360 young people in the above boroughs and additionally Haringey.

With our yearly intake at London Youth increasing for The Challenge 2013 programme, this exciting opportunity will now be available to even more young people. We are extremely interested in working with schools and youth organizations across Hackney, Haringey and Tower Hamlets who feel that their young people could benefit from The Challenge.

We welcome you to contact us and discuss how we can promote this opportunity in partnership with each other. If interested, please contact Roxi Jahanshahi, Recruitment Coordinator on: 020 7549 8807 or rjahanshahi@londonyouth.org.uk.
