Quality in the Voluntary Sector
‘Quality in the Voluntary Sector’ - a new directory of Quality Standards to help commissioners
Quality Standards are hugely important in youth work, where the standard of provision can vary so widely. Good youth works, and at London Youth we use our Quality Standard, the Quality Mark, to reward, and work towards, ever better youth work.
London Youth’s Quality Mark features in a new directory of the voluntary and community sector organisations which provide these independent quality accreditation schemes.
Alongside London Youth in this directory are:
- Action with Communities in Rural England [ACRE]
- Action for Advocacy
- Befriending Network
- Community Foundation Network
- Community Matters
- Mentoring and Befriending Foundation
- Mind
- The Helplines Association
- Volunteering England
- YMCA England
This is a new and helpful way of understanding quality standards; organisations often find themselves struggling to explain the equivalence of their chosen quality mark to ISO 9001, but Quality in the Voluntary Sector provides a simple, clear and effective guide to commissioners on quality standards for the voluntary and community sector.
Although diverse, the organisations in this directory are all leaders in particular parts of the voluntary and community sector.
Quality in the Voluntary Sector was formulated by members of the Accreditation Providers’ Forum, a group consisting of voluntary and community organisations that have a focus on accrediting quality in the third sector.
