Woodrow Swim School

Highlights

Woodrow Swim School's philosophy is that swimming is always learnt best in a structured, safe and caring environment with friendly teachers. Above all we want swimmers to enjoy the water.

Our successful and thriving Woodrow Swim School is based at Woodrow High House in Cherry Lane (off the A404) near Amersham in Bucks.

We run a comprehensive and progressive programme that starts with introducing babies from nine months to the pool and continues for children and adults of all ages and abilities.

At Woodrow Swim School we focus on quality rather than quantity. Our lessons run during the school terms with excellent pupil:teacher ratios. Teachers stay in the water until children can swim five metres and we have an RLSS Lifeguard poolside for all classes.

Swimmers receive a Progress Report and an Award from the Swimming Teachers Association Scheme at the end of each term. All teachers who work for Woodrow Swim School are A.S.A. or S.T.A. qualified and keep up to date with regular training, they also hold an enhanced disclosure from the Criminal Records Bureau.

We offer...

  • Group swimming lessons. These run 6 days a week, Monday – Saturday. Lessons for school age children run after school Monday – Friday and all day on a Saturday. Lessons for children not yet at school take place during the day on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays.
  • One to One lessons. For adults and children aged 3 years and up. These take place every weekend during the term and weekdays during each school holiday.
  • Crash Courses. Group lessons that run for 5 consecutive days (4 where there is a Bank Holiday), at the same time each day, in the same format as our group lessons.
  • Adult Lessons. Adults can learn to swim either in a group situation (Wednesday evenings) or on a One to One basis.

There is a viewing area at the deep end of the pool with tables and chairs and vending machines. We have single sex changing rooms with showers and toilets. The Swim School is in the grounds of Woodrow High House a beautiful 350 year old manor run by London Youth.
