Volunteer opportunities
So many parents and professionals have said that one of the things that makes Activenture so special are the volunteers - their dedication and commitment to the guests.
Some volunteers come to Activenture as part of their Gold Duke of Edinburgh's Award. Others to gain valuable work experience to include on their CV's, supporting their applications for employment / further education… but many come back time and time again because they enjoy the companionship, experience and activities of this fabulous adventure!
We have a minimum age to volunteer residentially of 13 years – this is subject to assessment during the induction training.
All volunteers are required to have an Activenture enhanced CRB check, provide two character references and completed induction training before attending their first Activenture. We will organise this when it is necessary.
We ask all volunteers to consider making a suggested voluntary donation of £25 per week attended. This is optional and does not affect your chances of volunteering for Activenture, but does help towards our fundraising.

Activenture Plus Carer (age 18+)
If you would like to be added to our volunteer mailing list without applying to volunteer or train at this time, then download a Volunteer Enquiry Form.
If you are a new volunteer, it is necessary to complete a free Induction Training Day prior to taking part at Activenture. You can attend training before you complete a volunteer application (recommended), or wait until you are offered a volunteer placement then apply for your training. Choice is yours!

Residential Helpers (13-18yrs)
Where else can a 13 year old be allowed to interact and support another young person outside of their family even when helping to wash and dress them? Why should the fun stop when we are in the most natural environment and just be ourselves?
Residential Staff (18+yrs)
"To see the helpers and the guests all pulling together to achieve on the obstacle course - just leaves me gobsmacked!" (a group leader)

Night Staff (18+yrs)
If you can give us one night a year, to us you are a hero. Such an important aspect to making Activenture work - and all the caffeine you need to stay awake!
Activenture Plus Carer ...
We expect our Activenture Plus Guests to be more independent so the carer role is to assist when asked. Of course this might mean helping with getting a round in at the pub!
