All of our Off-Site Activities provide excellent coverage of the Outdoor and Adventurous Activities section of the PE Curriculum...

Canoeing and Kayaking...

An introduction to one or other of these exciting watersports on the picturesque Ardingly Reservoir.  Kayaking is a great chance to look at skills acquisition; with canoeing the focus is more on teamwork and communication. There may also be the opportunity to organise a full day river trip on the River Medway or the River Ouse.

Mine exploration...

This is a half-day session in one of the old stone mines under the North Downs. Historically fascinating, very exciting, adventurous, and different - a memorable experience for the group. Although physical the challenge is normally obtainable for everyone.

Rock climbing and bouldering...

An adventurous morning or afternoon of climbing on one of the local sandstone outcrops - Harrisons or Stone Farm.  A chance to develop climbing technique on real rock under the supervision of fully qualified instructors. We can also run shorter 90 minute bouldering sessions where the group explores and scrambles round the rocks without using ropes.

Caving...

Hindleap has qualified and experienced caving instructors who can provide an exciting introduction to this activity in Derbyshire or on the Mendip plateau. A full day or weekend trip. Phone 01342 822625 and speak to Tony Smith for further information.

Mountain biking...

A fun and challenging activity that can be run as a half or full day normally on the South Downs. We are also able to arrange weekend expeditions away. Phone 01342 822625 and speak to Peter Dennett for further information.

Forest expedition...

Hindleap is on the northern edge of the beautiful Ashdown Forest and expeditions out onto the forest are easy to organise. These can be half or full day excursions.  Some groups use the opportunity to practise navigation skills - working together to find their way across the forest. There is also the chance to put the emphasis more on the local environment and immerse the young people in the history and wildlife of the forest.
