volunteer training

It is a requirement that all Activenture volunteers have completed an Induction Training Day prior to participating on a residential course. This training is free and includes:

  • What is Activenture?

  • Disability Awareness

  • Moving and Handling Aids

  • Child Protection Awareness (Safeguarding)

  • Communication

  • Wheelchair Handling

  • Teamwork

  • Any Questions?

Participants on an Induction Training Day do not have to commit to volunteering for Activenture before attending. Therefore this is an ideal way to decide if this type of volunteering opportunity appeals to you, before taking the next step.

Although we provide Induction Training opportunities throughout the year at both residential centres, some schools, colleges and other organisations (e.g. Metropolitan Police, St John Ambulance) have facilitated our training events at their own venue. This has the benefit of reducing travelling time for individuals, and often resulted in greater interest.

Several colleges are recommending us to their students, particularly for those who are studying Health & Social Care, or considering the sports, teaching, and medical professions.

We award each participant a certificate for completing the training session, which lists the subjects covered and can be included on their CV and Record of Achievement.

For details of dates and an application form to attend one of our scheduled induction days please click here.

As Activenture can be so different with each guest having their own independent routines and needs, it is necessary to be prepared to continually adapt (and if necessary, be given additional training) while at Activenture.

We can also provide Additional Voluntary Training for those interested, and this may include:

  • Child Protection (Safeguarding)

  • Moving and Handling

  • Behaviour Management

Such events are run during the year and will be publicised on this website.

For further information on any aspect of Activenture training, please contact: Les Pond on 01342 828218, or email to les@hindleap.com
