Hayley Burwell Hayley joined London Youth as Communications Officer in June 2009. Her role here is to fundraise for the London programmes and increase public awareness of their work, to keep our staff, members and supporters up to date with the latest news from London Youth and the wider third sector, and to help plan and run our events throughout the year. Before London Youth Hayley worked for The Telegraph Media Group in their creative advertising division, and before that she studied Japanese at Oxford University. As part of her degree she spent a year volunteering as a care worker at the Mihara-Sou Home for the Elderly in Osaka, and at Harima Home for adults with celebral palsy near Himeji. These experiences and her summers spent running English language summer camps in the United Arab Emirates and Hong Kong encouraged Hayley to return to the voluntary sector in her career and she is proud to work for an organisation which provides so many volunteering opportunities for young people each year.
