Les Pond
Les Pond is our Training and Recruitment Manager for Activenture. He has been involved with Activenture for around 35 years as a volunteer and has worked for the project since 2005 (its a family affair - his wife, son and daughter also volunteer for Activenture). As part of his role he visits schools, colleges, universities and youth organisations talking about volunteering. He also organises and runs the Induction Training days at Hindleap and Woodrow, but is increasingly asked to take the training to wherever there is sufficient interest (which is why you will often find him driving a minibus full of wheelchairs and covered in mud).
Les is very keen to promote volunteering to all young people and will often be found working with other volunteering agencies across the south east. He represents Activenture on the Thames Valley Police Independent Advisory Group who send new police officers to Activenture as part of their training. He is also the Chair of Trustees for the West Sussex Council for Voluntary Youth Services, and also represents Activenture at Action4Youth in Buckinghamshire. Les is also a council member of East Sussex Council of Voluntary Youth Services.
